The festival breakfast with actors, directors, film people and guests of the International Debut Film Festival "Spirit of Fire" was held by the Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova at the CTC "Ugra-Classic" today.

"My life is closely connected with the Film Festival, as I moved to live and work in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug after eight years of working as a Deputy in the State Duma on March 1, 2010, during the festival days," the head of the region said.

She shared with the guests that Ugrian land is very generous: "It is a real Siberian land. 1.7 million people live here. We produce oil, make movies, catch fish, breed deers, build, try to raise children smart and talented. You have already met one of them, Aleksandr Khant. His work won the grand prize at last year's Festival. This is only the beginning... I am proud of my countrymen! They are real people who are able to meet any challenge. We have everything to live well," the Governor added.

In continuation of the conversation, the head of the region expressed gratitude to Zinaida Longortova, the native of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug who took part in the festival breakfast. During the event, she stressed that she was extremely pleased to be at the same table with Natalya Komarova, her countrywoman. "I have lived and worked in Yamal for 21 years. And if the people of the region still think of me as their countrywoman, so, I have succeeded", said the Governor. She showed the guests a bracelet made by Zinaida Longortova's daughter. It is made of artificial forest berries: cloudberries, currants and others.

It has to be recalled that Zinaida Longortova came to Khanty-Mansiysk to participate in the "Spirit of Fire" with the film "Khon Yush. The way from the Ob". The film is shot entirely in the Khanty language and tells about the contribution of the indigenous Yamal people to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the hardships they got through. The action takes place during the wartime in 1930-1940 in the Shuryshkar district, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and is based on real events.

In turn, the Vice-President of the "Spirit of Fire" Maria Zvereva at breakfast shared that it is a great happiness for her once a year to come to Ugra for the film forum.

Her words were confirmed by the actor of theatre and cinema, film director, People's artist of Russia, laureate of the state prize Igor Yasulovich: "What we do remains in people's memory, in their hearts. Sergey Solovyov said that our task is to sow the good, the eternal."

French director Patricia Mazuy admitted that she had been dreaming about visiting Russia for 40 years, and she was happy to be here on the hospitable Ugrian land.

According to the Chairman of the international jury of the Festival, director from Philippines Lav Diaz, during his creative development, he had to work as a waiter to earn money for the production. "I started shooting my first films as a simple handyman in New York. At the same time, I continued to create". He said that his name Lav is an abbreviation of the Russian name Lavrentiy. So, his father called him in honour of Lavrentiy Beria, who was an ardent communist. "My career is closely connected with Russia: I made several films based on the works of Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoyevsky," he stated.
