Film "Sophia Antipolis" got "Golden Taiga" award

The results of the XVII International Debut Film Festival "Spirit of Fire" were summarized today in Khanty-Mansiysk. The closing ceremony was held in CTC "Ugra-Classic".

The award was preceded by "star carpet". This evening many guests walked along it: the honorary guest of the Festival brilliant Nastassja Kinski, Vice-President of the Festival Maria Zvereva, Russian actresses Ekaterina Shpitsa and Ekaterina Volkova, Boris Yukhananov, Nikolay Kolyada, participants of the international and Russian competition, Russian and international jury with Chairman Lav Diaz and others.

The solemn part of the opening ceremony was traditionally held by students of Sergey Solovyov's workshop of VGIK: Elena Isakova, Anastasiya Venkova and Anastasiya Teplinskaya. Musical accompaniment of the evening was provided by the musical director of the Festival, musician Sergey Ryzhenko (violin), Aleksey Peresidliy (chromatic button accordion), Bogdan Kiyashko (pianoforte).

The awards ceremony was the culmination of a rich film festival. As noted by the jury, all films submitted to the competition are worthy but they chose only the best. Thus, 8 films took part in the competition of Russian debuts and the international competition, and 18 films in the competition of short films.

According to the decision of the international jury, the grand prize of the Film Festival "Golden Taiga" awarded the film "Sophia Antipolis" by French director Virgil Vernier. The jury awarded "Silver Taiga" the film "Dead Horse Nebula" by Turkish director Tarik Aktaş. Two films got "Bronze Taiga": "Again Once Again" directed by Romina Paula from Argentina and "Adam & Evelyn" by Andreas Goldstein from Germany.

The film "Ghostly Guimbarde" directed by Pyotr Struchkov got the main prize of the jury of the Russian competition "Flowers of hope of Taiga".
