The Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the XVII IDFF "Spirit of Fire" in Khanty-Mansiysk on Tuesday, February 12.

It was also attended by the heads of relevant departments and institutions of the Autonomous Okrug, as well as by Vice-President of the Festival Maria Zvereva in the videoconference from Moscow.

In the beginning, the Head of the region recalled that the "Spirit of Fire" will host representatives of 25 countries – producers of the film industry, and more than 170 shows are planned.

"Last year, the Festival went beyond traditional areas, started an online broadcast of cultural projects, collected more than 80 thousand virtual participants from Russia and foreign countries. This year's lectures are devoted to the main theme of the Film Festival – "Cinema and Theatre", she said.

According to Maria Zvereva, the programs of the international and Russian competition and the jury have already been formed: "The jury consisted of talented people who participated and repeatedly won the world's largest film festivals. The international jury will be headed by a director with many international awards, but his name will be announced later. The Russian jury will be headed by theatre and film actor, People's artist of Russia Aleksandr Lazarev, composer jury will be headed by Maksim Dunaevskiy. The honorary guest of the Festival will be the world-famous movie star, German actress, winner of the Golden Globe Award Nastassja Kinski.

The participants of the meeting discussed and approved the cultural program and the program of special projects of the Festival.

Thus, Executive Director of the "Spirit of Fire", Director of CTC "Ugra-classic" Larisa Zhuravleva said that this year the organizers of the event will present the project "Festival Night". Its participants will be able to get acquainted with the variety of cinema and related arts during concerts, master classes, creative meetings, public lectures and other events.

One of the days of the Festival is declared Family Day. Here children will be able to participate in the project "Chitalkin", special guests of which will be the participants of the project "Voice. Children". It is also planned to hold an exhibition of paintings by the famous film director and actor Stanislav Govorukhin. There will be performances of the actor's workshop of director Sergey Solovyov.

Within the program "Your Cinema" some of the best films in the world cinema will be shown.

Larisa Zhuravleva drew attention to the fact that the Festival will be attended by Egor Morozov – a successful actor of the Moscow theatre "School of Modern Play", a native of the village Polovinka of the Kondinskiy district of Ugra. Creative meetings with the actor will be held in Nyagan, Khanty-Mansiysk and other cities of the Autonomous Okrug.

"The audience will have a unique opportunity to see footage from the new film "Ambivalence", where Egor acted a title role. The film will be released in March", she said.

A special feature of this Festival will also be a visiting project "Echo" of "Spirit of Fire" in Kogalym. The organizers of the Festival offered to include in the program not only film screenings but also performances of professional creative teams.

Speaking about the programs, Natalya Komarova underlined that this year the cities of Ugra will host a special film program "Echo-2019" under the slogan: "Theatre is a means of mutual understanding and strengthening peace between peoples", premieres of children and youth films, animated works, ethnocultural movies dedicated to The Year of Indigenous

Languages will be held. "Echo" will start in Nizhnevartovsk on February 27 and will finish in Kogalym on March 27, on World Theatre Day.

The Head of the region noted that the branch of the State Academic Maly Theatre of Russia will be opened in Kogalym in March.

"Artistic Director, theatre and film actor Uriy Solomin said: "When artists work, the heart beats alive, and it is, of course, somehow transmitted to the screen, to the intonation, by a look. This will never be achieved by computer technologies. You should always leave a piece of your heart on the stage," Natalya Komarova said, underlined that the members of the Organizing Committee proceed from this forming the Festival program.
