The video film is dedicated to the topic of aggression and psychological children trauma. The main heroines are two aggressive sisters who live in the center of regenerative medicine. Communication between them is based on claims and insults. Each time we see a new outgoing clot of accumulated emotions. Documentary shooting, field recordings of sounds and voices of the inhabitants of the village Chakola (Pinega district of Arkhangelsk region) formed the basis of this film. The only fiction character is synchronized with animated water, “implanted” in true shooting, which will fill the half-ruined wooden architecture of the Russian North. In this way the director shows the invisible part of the unusual northern culture. Absence of serfdom influenced the way of life in the Arkhangelsk region in general. The Soviet period could not completely destroy the ritual tradition. The connection of the multi-kilometer artery, the Pinega River, and local female magic still supports the dying village.

How does perception, and most importantly, the narrative itself change when the screen is vertical? How does the film change under new conditions? We get accustomed to the vertical format, this is facilitated by the stories of our lives and our laziness, when we simply do not want to turn the phone, taking pictures in one quick hand. But our vertical stories mainly capture reality. The real Overturn (among many other things) is designed to replace the documentary surrealism of cinema: a dream in the vertical position. How should we speak about form, not touching it directly? What should we fill it with, what kind of story must we use? Maybe with the story of a relationship between two, when one offers a form, the other fills it with his own content, sometimes with exaggeration, pose questions..

Protocorba is a fantasy world in which ordinary, unimposing characters live. Nothing unusual happens with them in this world. They walk, sit, stand, get bored in the wind, sometimes dance and buy some tea to drink. I think that if you have a grain of doubt in the reality of this world, it is vain, because the world is fictional and you only think that it is real.
